Why I started blogging?

It’s been two years now that I’ve started blogging on and of and let me tell you I’m loving it! Ever since I was younger, I’ve always wanted to blog create my own website just for me but I never knew how to start. You see I love writing absolutely love it! I have done ever sine I was a little girl. I used to write my own stories in my little notebooks about going on adventures and I used to write a diary and I still do.

When I was 16 years I started googling one day and came across an article called blogging. My friend blogged everything. Restaurants reviews spa reviews, vlogs from her YouTube channel. That’s when I realised that’s what I wanted to do. So I did some research. But I found designing a website honestly so difficult but I never gave up. My first website I made was on blogger.com. I managed to make this in 2020. This was when I blogged about movie reviews, recipes that I’ve made and even tv show reviews. I remember blogging about my prom dresses back when I was 19! Crazy how long ago that was.

I stopped that for a while as I got quite bored with it buy back in 2024, I came across disabled bloggers writing life style and accessibility reviews. My favourite blogger is definitely simply Emma. She was the one who inspired me to write about anything to do with disabilities. That what she does you see. She writes accessible travel guides mostly in Scotland but also other places not just around England but around the world to like New York. But her work is amazing. I’m going to see if I can interview her one day for my blog. That would be cool. But I totally recommend you start to read her blog. She has a lot of information out there and it’s so interesting to read.

So in 2024 I started to blog everything. My travel experiences. Product reviews, accessibility. Anything to do regarding disability. Right now I don’t post these blog posts on my social media yet as I get a little embarrassed when people read my work so I just leave it for google analytics for now. Since blogging, I’ve worked with the marketing team at my college and I really enjoyed that. I wrote a few articles for there news letter about there chief completion that they had and the primark range. You will find my work here.

But yeah I love blogging so much but this year I’m taking blogging more seriously so I’m going to make a Facebook page dedicated to my writing journey so that I can attract more people. It’s been an amazing journey so far and I hope to continue during the future.

I’ve tried multiple social media platforms like YouTube, TikTok but there just not for me at all. You see because I have no voice, I can’t communicate but blogging I don’t need to because I can write and that’s perfect for me. I do definitely want to make this a full time job in the future so I can get paid and do what I love and help the disabled community as much as possible. That’s my aim you see to help people who are in a similar position as me to overcome these challenges that we face in our everyday life’s.

If sharing my story helps even one person feel stronger or less alone, then this blog is worth it. We’re all in this together.
