Hi, my name is Robyn Harris, and I’m 22 years old. I have a disability called a spinal injury, which means I can’t walk and use a wheelchair. It wasn’t always like this—when I was 13, a surgery left me paralyzed from the shoulders down. It’s been a challenging journey filled with obstacles, but through it all, I’ve never lost my passion for writing.
Ever since I was young, I’ve loved creating stories and expressing myself through words. Writing has always been my way of channeling my creativity and making sense of the world around me. For a long time, I’ve wanted to start a blog to share my experiences and raise awareness about disability and accessibility, but I didn’t know where to begin.
This year, I decided to take that leap and finally start my blog. My goal is to use my platform not only to share my personal journey but also to educate and advocate for better accessibility and understanding of disabilities. I am also passionate about pursuing journalism at university to further develop my writing skills and storytelling abilities. I believe that through journalism, I can make an even bigger impact and help amplify the voices of those in the disability community.
